We want to update you on where we are at now We re-opened the posting with a Feb. 27 first review deadline In March we will review applicants and plan our interview process We plan to interview candidates in April with the goal of making an offer late that month. Next we want to share an update on our use of fund distributed under the American Rescue Plan Act 1 Jefferson County ARPA funding summary – $3.129M in ’21 - received $3.129M in ’22 – allocated $4-5M in revenue sharing (next two years) Top commitments to date: Homeless housing – Caswell Brown $1.5M Update from Commissioner Brotherton Port Hadlock sewer - $1M Broadband investment - $900K Business grants via EDC - $500K Fort Worden - $378K Port of PT, Travel Lift - $150K 2 @ HJ Carroll Park in Chimacum In addition to ARPA funds we have deployed JC capital funds to enable community priorities such as the Jefferson Universal Movement Playground at the HJ Carroll Park in Chimacum. This is a great example of a collaborative project with funding coming from: $1.4 million project cost State Legislature via WWRP - $500K, was #1 project on local parks list in 2020 County - $550K partially as match to that grant In-kind donations of services such as recent donating of $27K in construction services from Bernt Ericsen Excavating Individual contributions and grants 3 4 Building activity is on the rise in Jefferson County 7/26/2022 4 Eyes and ears on Olympia Kate, as our lead on legislative issues is going to give a quick report on policy moving through the legislature this session. As you know, we are the partners NOLA replies on from within Jefferson County. 5 Huge opportunity with Federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law – details outlined at www.build.gov – addresses three general categories of infrastructure: Transportation Climate, Energy and Environment Broadband Let’s work together to achieve big things for our communities! Dr. Berry, our Health Officer, is planning on rescinding ours on March 11th if not earlier. Earlier today, Governor Inslee announced he’s rescinding the state mask mandate in indoor public spaces on March 21 The Jefferson County public health order requiring masking in indoor, public places will be rescinded on Monday, March 21 at the same time the State of Washington lifts its masking order. 7
