I would suggest you apply for a pre-application conference to discuss the proposal once these are received.

Hi Shannen,
A big thank you to you and the team for thinking this through.
What's the best way to submit the wetland delineation, geotechnical report, and farm plan?
All the best,

Hi Mark,
I have spoken with the team and we have reviewed the code together. The proposal must comply with our agricultural
activities in critical areas code, Jefferson County Code (JCC) 18.22 Article VIII Agriculture and the wetland section JCC
18.22 Article VII Wetlands.
That being said to further any review, you would need to submit a wetland delineation, geotechnical report, and farm
plan developed by a state or federal farm assistance agency that addresses all the requirements and how the proposal
1
meets each criterion from JCC 18.22. Once the following are obtained, the application would likely require a pre-
application conference to determine the proper permitting path.
Hopefully, this information gives you a good starting path to achieve your goals!

Hi Shannen,
901254002 is the parcel number.
The proposal would be to plant blueberry bushes every 4 feet within a wetland buffer. The use would be for
commercial purposes and the blueberries would be sold onsite at a farmstand. No heavy machinery/vehicles
would enter the wetland buffer.
Thank you so much.

Hi Shannen,
Is it possible to use this opportunity to ask+answer the same questions, as if we were talking about a parcel where your
team did have jurisdiction? We're looking for farmland and Jefferson county has such nice soil.
Thank you for considering.

Mark, I just looked up your parcel and it appears it is within Port Townsend City limits. We do not have jurisdiction in the
city, I recommend you reach out to the development review division with the City of Port Townsend. Thank you!

Hi Shannen,
Thanks for reaching out. I'm excited to learn more about what's allowable and how we can meet the needs of
a growing neighborhood.

The blueberries would be for commercial agriculture use and to be sold at an onsite farmstand. We'd like to
attract residents who live within 1 mile of the site. We imagine people will stop by as they bicycle and walk the
neighborhood.
We would source our plants from Cloud Mountain: https://www.cloudmountainfarmcenter.org/nursery-
category/fruit-plants/small-fruit/blueberry/
Blueberries can be planted about every 4 feet. How far into the buffer depends on what your team decides.
We'd like to plant as many as possible to meet the financial goals of a mini-scale agricultural operation.
Happy to answer additional questions. Thank you for your time.
