REMOVAL OF PERS I & II FROM TAXABLE INCOME
WHEREAS, the Forty-Eighth Legislature enacted Substitute
Senate Bill (S.S.B.) 4477 (Chapter 227, Washington Laws, 1984 Regu-
lar Session) providing for Federal Income Tax deferral on employee
contribution to the retirement system; and
WHEREAS, employees covered under the PERS I, PERS II and
LEOFF retirement systems were provided with a complete explanation
of the effect of the tax deferral of retirement contributions, and
WHEREAS, by majority vote, employees under PERS I and PERS
II elected said tax deferred benefit; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Jefferson County Commis-
sioners, that effective January 1, 1985, all employees covered
under PERS I and PERS II retirement system shall have their retire-
ment contribution deferred as set forth under S.S.B. 4477.
