STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
ADVISORY BOARD RESIGNATIONS (3) re: Conservation Futures Citizens Oversight Committee; 1)
Open Interest—Ecotourism Representative, Lorna Smith; 2) Open Interest—Agriculture, Scott Brinton; 3)
Citizen - District No. 3 Representative, JD Gallant
ANALYSIS:
Notice from Tami Pokorny, contact for Jefferson County Conservation Futures Citizen Oversight Committee
was received stating the following members are resigning from this Committee.
Lorna Smith has been a valued Open Interest—Ecotourism Representative on this Committee since 2012.
Ms. Smith has a full-time commitment as State Fish and Wildlife Commissioner and time no longer allows
her to serve on this Committee.
Scott Brinton has served as the Open Interest—Agriculture Representative and must resign due to other
commitments.
JD Gallant served as a Citizen—District No. 3 Representative since 2011 and will be greatly missed on this
Committee on which his contributing was very valued. He passed away in early 2022.
Ms. Pokorny is actively advertising to fill these open positions on this Committee.
RECOMMENDATION:
Accept ADVISORY BOARD RESIGNATIONS (3) re: Conservation Futures Citizens Oversight
Committee; 1) Open Interest—Ecotourism Representative, Lorna Smith; 2) Open Interest—Agriculture,
Scott Brinton; 3) Citizen - District No. 3 Representative, JD Gallant
