JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 1-83
ADOPTION OF A REVISED JEFFERSON-PORT
TOWNSEND SHORELINE MANAGEMENT MASTER PROGRA11,f
WHEREAS, the Washington State Shoreline Management Act of 1971 (Chapter 90.58
Revised Code of Washington) requires that counties and cities incur certain duties,
obi igations, and responsibi I ities with regard to implementation of said act; and
WHEREAS, Jefferson County and the City of Port Townsend have performed the
necessary prerequisites for the establishment of a shoreline master program; and

WHEREAS, a Jefferson-Port TOüJnsend Shoreline Management Master PT'ogram has been
approved by the State of Washington pursuant to Chapter 90.58.090 R.C.W in 1974; and
WHEREAS, the Jefferson-Port Townsend Shoreline Management Advisory Commission
has developed, reviewed, and recommended adoption of a revised shore I ine management
master program for the City of Port Townsend and Jefferson County; and
. said revised shoreline management master program has been developed in
accordarL': ,"'0 the provisions of Chapter 90.58 R.C.W. and Chapter 173-16 W.A.C.; and
WHEREf\,S, the Jefferson County Board of Commi ss ioners and Port Townsend City
Counci I Hnds said revision furthers the provisions of Chapter 90.58 R.C.W. and is in
the interest of the citizens of Jefferson County.
Nryd, THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED that the revised Jefferson-Port TOüJnsend Shore-
linel~gement Master Program is hereby approved and adopted; and
BE iT FURTHER RESOLVED that this revised shorel ine management master program
wil I recind and 5upérsede the Jefferson-Port TOüJnsend Shoreline Management Master
PT'ogram dated December 20, 1974 upon approval and adoption of the revision by the
State of Washington.
