RESOLUTION NO. 34-R3
HEARING NOTICE
BUDGET APPROPRIATION - HISTORICAL SOCIETY
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Historical Society has insufficient
funds in its 1983 Budget of Expenditures to cover costs incurred in the
amount of $1,381.22, which were not anticipated at the time of preparing
the budget; and
WHEREAS, the amount of $1,381.22 is necessary for payment of
unused vacation time earned by the past Museum Director who has now retired;
and
WHEREAS, it appears to the Board of Jefferson County Commissioners
that a need and emergency exists as could not have been foreseen or contem-
plated at the time of preparing the budget for 1983, and the sum of $1,381.22
is necessary to meet such need and emergency and is for the best interests of
Jefferson County that the appropriation be made; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, that an emergency is hereby declared, that an
appropriation be made for the Jefferson County Historical Society in the
amount of $1,381.22 to be used for Salaries & Benefits.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a public hearing be held on the said
emergency appropriation and that said hearing be held in the County Commis-
sioners' Chambers, Courthouse, Port Townsend, Washington, on the 9th day of
May, 1983, at the hour of 10:00a.m., and that notice of said hearing be
published in the official newspaper of Jefferson County, and that at said
hearing any interested taxpayer may appear and be heard for or against the
appropriation for such alleg~emergency.
