RESOLUTION NO. 63-83
AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF
SETTLEMENT FOR PAST DUE TAXES
Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific Railroad
WHEREAS, the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific
Railroad Company does presently owe to Jefferson County the
sum of $4,406.86 in past due real and personal property taxes
for the years 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981 and 1982, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Railroad's filing for bankruptcy,
the Trustee for the Railroad extended an offer to various
counties and states for settlement of past dues taxes by tendering
cash payment of ninety percent (90%) of the amounts dueF and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners for Jefferson
County feels that it would be in the best interests of the
County to accept this offer, thereby releasing said Railroad
from the obligation to pay the balance owing for the above-
mentioned years, and
WHEREAS, RCW 36.32.120 (8) grants the Board of County
Commissioners the authority to so do;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the amount
of Three Thousand Nine Hundred Sixty Six and 17/100 ($3,966.17)
be accepted as payment in full for the real and personal
property taxes owing for the years 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981 and
1982; and
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Treasurer be and she
is hereby authorized to advise the Trustee in the bankruptcy
of the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad
Company of said acceptance.
APPROVED and ADOPTED this 28th day of June, 1983.
