BOARD Of. COMMISSIONERS
Gentlemen,
In initiating action under the Public Water System
Coordination Act in Resolution 97-83 you declared the area
of the study to be county-wide. As we learned at the first
meeting of the Water utility Coordinating Committee there is
a definite, and somewhat different, procedure by which these
limits are to be established.
The first action is for the WUCC to so recommend. They
did this unanimously at their first meeting on November 30.
Next, following a ten day notice in the press, the Board of
Commissioners is required to hold two public hearings. These
can be held during regular meeting hours. Following this,
and presuming there are not sufficient substantive reasons
raised to reduce the area of the study, another resolution
will be required. A proposal is attached.
For your information, the first meeting was well attended
(only one invitee failed to show), the information was well
presented and seemed to be well received by the attentive
audience.
Sincerely,
~~
B. G. Brown
