RESOLUTION NO. 12-82
ORDER
ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT NO. J
WHEREAS, Fire Protection District No. 3 is an established
Fire Protection District within Jefferson County, and
WHEREAS, annexation of certain additional territory,
described hereinbelow, has been proposed, and
WHEREAS, sixty percent (60%) of the qualified, registered
electors residing within the territory described below signed a
petition requesting annexation to Fire Protection District No.3, and
WHEREAS, the Fire Commissioners of Fire Protection District
No. 3 concurred with the petitioners requesting annexation and
transmitted the said petition to the Jefferson County Auditor for
certification, and
WHEREAS, the County Auditor examined the petition as
required by statute and certified that seventy-six percent (76%) of
the registered voters within the territory, described below, signed
the said petition requesting annexation, and
WHEREAS, no election is required when sixty percent (60%)
or more of the electors sign the petition requesting annexation, and
WHEREAS, the statute (RCW 52.08.060) requires the Board
of County Commissioners to determine the amount of obligation which
the territory to be annexed to the District shall assume to place
the taxpayers of the existing district on a fair and equitable
relationship with the taxpayers of the territory to be annexed; now,
therefore,
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the following territory be and
it is hereby annexed to Jefferson County Fire Protection District
No.3:
Section 26, Northeast ~ of Northeast ~
of Section 27, Southeast ~ of Section
32, South ~ of Section 33, South ~ of
Section 34, South ~ of Southwest ~ and
East ~ of Section 35, Township 28 North,
Range 1 East, W.M.; together with'
Sections 2, 3, 4, the East ~ of East ~
of Section 5, Section 9, Section 16,
East ~ and Southeast ~ of Southwest ~
of Section 17, South ~ of Section 19,
and Section 20, Township 27 North,
Range 1 East, W.M.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the property within the
annexed territory which is taxable for Fire Protection District

purposes be and it is hereby subject to an additional assessment
of twenty cents ($.20) per thousand dollars ($1,000) of assessed
valuation, assessed in 1982, payable in 1983.
