HomeMy WebLinkAbout049 82 £1<; :·JN~,J ~' ¡'?2Z1¡¡ .-. >~,i , ~: ':-;fl:¡' ,?¿: ~"r~ RESOLUTION NO. 49-82 A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT NO.7, DEFINING BOUNDARIES THERE- OF & PROVIDING FOR THE FIRST COMMISSIONERS THEREIN WHEREAS, on March 1, 1982, there was filed with the Auditor of Jefferson County, a petition for the purpose of forming a fire protection district under the provisions of R.C.W. 52.04.010 et seq., and said Auditor having found and determined that said petition contains a sufficient number of signatures of qualified persons, and having attached thereto her certi- ficate of sufficiency and on March 31, 1982, transmitted the same to the Board of County Commissioners, and said Board, by resolution entered upon their minutes, fixed Monday, May 10, 1982, at the hour of 2:30p.m. of said day, at the Commissioners' Chambers in the Jefferson County Courthouse, Port Townsend, Washington, as the time and place for the hearing of said petition; and WHEREAS, at said time and place said petition came on for hearing, proof having been made to the satisfaction of this Board that Notice hereof had been given for the time and in the manner provided by law, and no objec- tion having been made or filed, the Board proceeded to hear the petition and upon conclusion, made the following findings: I. That the lands described in the petition will be conducive to public safety, welfare and convenience, and should be granted. II. The name and number of the district shall be JEFFERSON COUNTY FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT NO.7, and the boundaries thereof shall be and are determined as follows: 1. Beginning at the intersection of a line due South from the center of Sec. 7 of Tn. 24N., R. 12W.W.M. and the East bank of the Clearwater River, which shall be the true point of beginning, thence due South to the NW corner of SW~ of SE~ of Sec. 18, Tn. 24N., R. 12W.W.M., thence due East to NE corner of SW~ of SE~ of Sec. 18, Tn. 24N., R. 12W.W.M., thence due South to the East bank of the Clear- water River, thence Northerly up the East bank of the Clearwater River to the true point of beginning. The SW~ of Sec. 29, Tn. 24N., R. 12W. W.M. 4. That portion of NE~ of SW~ of Sec. 33, Tn. 24N., R. 12W.W.M. North of U.S. Highway 101. III. That an election be held on Tuesday, the 14th day of Sept- ember 1982 to determine whether the district shall be organized. The elec- tion shall be, so far as possible, called, noticed, conducted and canvassed in the same manner and by the same officials as is provided for a special election in the county to authorize the issuance of bonds for a county pur- pose, and all such officials shall have full authority to do all things necessary for the purpose of the election. For the purpose of the election, county voting precincts may be combined or divided and redefined, and the territory in the district shall be included in one or more election precincts as may be deemed convenient and they shall be defined and a polling place for each designated. The notice of the election shall state generally and briefly the purpose thereof, give the boundaries of the proposed district, define the election precincts, designat the polling place for each, mention the names of the candidates for the first commissioners, and name the day of the election and the hours during which the polls will be open. IV. The three resident electors of the district who shall be candidates for election as the first commissioners are: Walt VanDenElzen John W.
