RESOLUTION NO. 55-82
APPOINTMENT OF PROSECUTING ATTORNEY
JEFFERSON COUNTY
WHEREAS, the elected Prosecuting Attorney for Jefferson County,
WILLIAM E. HOWARD, has submitted to the Board of County Commissioners his
resignation which is to be effective at 4:00p.m. on May 27, 1982; and
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney for Jefferson County also
serves as County Coroner and that office will also be vacant at the time
of the resignation of the said Prosecuting Attorney; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Article II, Section 15 (Amendment 52)
Washington State Constitution, the Chairman of the Jefferson County
Republican Central Committee has submitted a list of candidates for the
said position to the Board of County Commissioners for review and consider-
ation; and
WHEREAS, the said Board of Commissioners have considered the list
of candidates and their qualifications for the position of Prosecuting
Attorney; Now, Therefore,
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that JOHN F. RAYMOND is appointed as the
Prosecuting Attorney and Coroner for Jefferson County, effective as of
4:00p.m. May 27, 1982, by the Board of Jefferson County Commissioners as
required by law.

Th.e Jefferson County Republican Central Committee, at a regularly
held meeting on May 25,. 1982, met with two a tt,orneys who ...a
previously expressed interest in the pesition o:t prosecuting
attorney. They were don Raymond and. Keith Happer. At this
meeting, Ke.i th Harper asked that his name be- withdrawn from
consideration.
We herewith submit to the Board. of Je:tfersom County Commissiomers
the name of John :F. Raymond, present,ly s,erving as deputy prosecutor,
~$ the sole nominee for appointment to the position of ~efferson
C6u.nty Prosecuting Attorney.
