HomeMy WebLinkAbout073 82 RESOLUTION NO. 73-82 A RESOLUTION of the Board of County Commissioners of Jefferson County, Washington, approving and confirming the assessment roll of Road Improvement District No.2; fixing the interest rates and penalties on unpaid assessments; and providing for the filing of the assessment roll with the County Treasurer for collection. WHEREAS, a hearing on the assessment roll for Jefferson County Road Improvement District No. 2 was held on March 15, 1982, and continued through June 22, 1982, for the purpose of obtaining all pertinent infor- mation relevant to the said assessment roll; Now, Therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF JEFFERSON COUNTY, WASHINGTON as follows: Section 1. The assessments on the assessment roll of Road Improvement District No. 2 shall be and they are in all things confirmed and approved in the total sum of $85,336.93. Section 2. Each of the lots, tracts, parcels of land and other property shown upon the assessment roll is declared to be specially bene- fited by the improvements in at least the amount charged against the same and it is further declared that the assessment appearing against the same are in proportion to the several assessments appearing upon the roll. There is levied and assessed against each lot, tract, parcel of land and other property appearing on the roll, the amount finally charged against the same thereon. Section 3. The Clerk of the Board of County Commissioners is authorized and instructed to deliver the assessment roll together with a duplicate original executed copy of this resolution to the County Treasurer and that Treasurer is authorized and instructed to proceed to collect the assessment roll in accordance with law. The assessments may be paid in cash at any time within thirty (30) days from the first day of publication by the Treasurer of notice that the assessment roll is in her hands for collection, without penalty, interest or cost, or if not then paid may, at the option of the several property owners, be paid in twenty (20) equal annual installments with interest thereon fixed at a rate not to exceed 12% per annum. The first installment of assessments on the assessment roll for Road Improvement District No. 2 shall become due and payable during the thirty-day period succeeding a date one year a;fter the date of first publication by the County Treasurer of notice that the assessment roll is in her hands for collection, and annually thereafter each succeeding install- ment shall become due and payable in like manner. If the whole or any VOL 8' un:' ¡hlk o lS60 Resolution No. 73-82 portion of the assessments remain unpaid after the first thirty-day period, interest upon the whole unpaid sum shall be charged at the rate of 12% per annum and each year thereafter one of the installments, together with interest due upon the whole of the unpaid balance, shall be collected. Any installment not paid prior to the expiration of that thirty-day period during which such installment is due and payable shall thereupon become delinquent. All delinquent installments shall be subject to a charge for interest at 12% per annum and to an additional charge of 12% penalty levied upon both principal and interest due upon such installment or installments. The collection of such delinquent installments shall be enforced in the manner provided by law.
