Home My WebLink About122 82 Q..t:~ q¿"l"~,,) --',jJ;¡.,..", !t>Jrr...riZ {'~ RESOLUTION NO. 122-82 ORDER BUDGET ESTABLISHMENT FOR REIMBURSEMENT TO ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners did, on the 27th day of September, 1982, declare that an emergency existed to provide the sum of $6,404.00 plus applicable interest for repayment of funds advanced by the Environmental Protection Agency for consulting engineering fees on Construction Grant #C-530821-01 (ENCON), which were determined to be ineligible for funding, and set a hearing on said emergency for Monday, the 11th day of October, 1982, at the hour of 10:30a.m.; and WHEREAS, notice of said hearing was published in the legal news- paper for Jefferson County as required by law; and WHEREAS, hearing was held at the specified time and place, and no objection was interposed; now, therefore, BE IT ORDERED, by the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners, that the County Auditor be, and she is hereby authorized to establish a budget within Non-Departmental in Current Expense in the amount of $6,404.00 plus $34.56 interest due, to be expended under (EPA) BARS No. 517.70.42. Based on this determination, the total eligible cost is $6,504 and the EPA share is,$4,878. Since EPA has disbursed $14,880 to the County, there is an overpayment of $10,002. Previously, we had intended to off-set the $10,002 against your next grant, which we assumed would immediately follow the Step 1 grant. Since this is not the case and additional funding by EPA has been considerably deferred, the $10,002 must be returned to this office within 30 days from date of this letter. Failure to meet this due date will require an interest charge of 16.19 percent per annum be added. This is a daily accrual factor of $4.49812. Should you have any questions, please contact John F. Rogowski, Attorney for EPA, has advised me that the above reference audit's questioned costs should be revised to $7,349. This reduction in questioned costs increases the eligible portion to $12,491 and the EPA share to $9,368. Since EPA has disbursed $14,880 to Jefferson County, the principal balance due is $5,512. The interest due on this amount is ~+ ~ $892. Mr. Rogowski advises that the County has agreed to remit $6,404 to > reach EPA by September 30, 1982. Failure to receive the $6,404 by that date will require EPA charge interest of 16.19 percent per annum on the ~ntire $6,404 effective August 30, 1982 [the daily accrual factor is $2.88].
