RESOLUTION NO. 12-80
ORDER
Emergency Budget Extension
Sheriff's Department
Labor Dispute
WHEREAS, a labor dispute arose between Teamsters Local 589 and
the County with regard to payment of wages for certain Jefferson County
Sheriff's Deputies, and
WHEREAS, this dispute was set for an arbitration hearing on
January 18, 1980, and
WHEREAS, resolution of the dispute was satisfactorily negotiated
between Teamsters Local 589 and Jefferson County, and
WHEREAS, settlement of approved claims is a non-debatable matter
under RCW 36.40.180, and, whereas, the Board of County Commissioners has
unanimously approved settlement of the dispute in accordance with the
letter of William E. Howard, Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney, dated
January 16, 1980, and directed to Timothy C. Farris, attorney for Teamsters
Local 589; Now, Therefore,
IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that funds in the amounts set out below be
and they are hereby appropriated along with such additional amounts as
may be required to pay increased unemployment, retirement, and social
security payments for the five designated officers. This resolution is
a nondebatable matter under RCW 36.40.180, and the designated appropriation
shall be made immediately,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Auditor be and she is hereby
ordered to transfer the following amounts from the Current Expense
unemcumbered fund balance 501 to the Sheriff's budget 521.
Direct payments shall be made to the following individuals in
the amounts designated:
