RESOLUTION NO. 15-80_
HEARING NOTICE
BUDGET APPROPRIATION
Sheriff's Department
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Sheriff Department has insufficient
funds in their 1980 budget to cover costs incurred for (1) Sales tax on the
10 patrol vehicles being leased, $1,250.00;
(2) New vehicle (1979 Blazer),
due to a 1977 Suburban Patrol Vehicle being wrecked on January 9, 1980,
$8,900.00; and (3) A complete change and transfer of radios and all other
equipment to be installed in the new vehicle, $786.45, which all of the
above were not anticipated at the time of preparing their budget,and
WHEREAS, it appears to the Board of Jefferson County Commissioners
that a need and emergency exists as could not have been forseen or contem-
plated at the time of making the budget for 1980, and the sum of $10,936.45
is necessary to meet such need and emergency and is for the best interests
of Jefferson County that the appropriation be made;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that an emergency is hereby declared, that
an appropriation be made for the Jefferson County Sheriff Department in the
amount of $10,936.45 to be used for the above stated catagories.
iBE:rTE'l'.:JRTHER4~ESOLVEPi' that a public hearing be held on said emergency
appropriation and that said hearing be held in the County Commissioners'
Chamber, Courthouse, Port Townsend, Washington, on the 28th day of January,
1980, at the hour of 11:30 a.m.; and the notice of said hearing be published
in the official newspaper of Jefferson County, and that at said hearing any
interested taxpayer may appear and be heard for or against the appropria-
tions for such alleged emergency.
