RESOLUTION NO. 26-80
NON-DEBATABLE BUDGET EXTENSION
COURT REPORTER SALARIES 1980
WHEREAS, legislative action, Laws of 1979, authorized an
increase in salary for Court Reporters, effective January 1, 1980; and
WHEREAS, the amounts necessary to provide said expenses was
not anticipated at the time of the preparation of the Current Expense
Budget for 1980; and
WHEREAS, this is a mand~tory expenditure required by law and
thus constitutes a non-debatable emergency with the provisions of RCW
36.40.180;
THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the Board of County Com-
missioners, that the aforementioned facts constitute an emergency, and
that the following amounts be appropriated as follows:

Dear Ben;
As per our telephone conversation of February 6, 1980, regarding Court
Reporters salaries, you gave me the salary as $21,991.00-- Taking their CO~
bined salaries from both Counties in 1979, the gross came to $20,553.84 X .07%,
which equals a raise of $1,438.77 , for a total of $21,992.61 for 1980.
Jefferson Share: 4,545.88 (annual) 378.82 (monthly) plus 4e
C1allam Share: 17,446.73 (annual) 1,453.89 (monthly) plus 5e

The percentages for the year 1979 were 62% Clallam Co.
38% Jefferson Co.
The percentages for the year 1980 will be
79% Clallam Co. 7'9,33
21% Jefferson Co. :l0. /;'7
In computing the 7% salary increase the county used the 62%
figure for 1979 when they should have used the 79% figure.
