RESOLUTION NO. 48-80
Reconvene the 1980 O.E.D.P. Advisory Committee
WHEREAS, the Federal government provides assistance to local governments
in community economic development, under the provisions of the 1965 Federal
Public Works and Economic Development Act, as amended to date; and
WHEREAS, Jefferson County is empowered to undertake programs for the
improvement of the general health, safety, and welfare of their residents;
and
WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best interest of the inhabitants of
Jefferson County that Jefferson County be eligible to participate in programs
under such Federal Economic Development Act, as amended; and
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners hereby declares
intent to continue participating in programs under the Federal Works and
Economic Development Act, as amended.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, this Board hereby reconvenes the
Jefferson County Overall Economic Development Program (D.E.D.P.) Advisory
Committee for the purpose of: (a) reviewing the current economic conditions
of Jefferson County; (b) assisting in the update of the O.E.D.P. for 1980;
and (c) representing interests from each of the following groups:
Agriculture
Aquaculture/Fishing
Construction
Energy
Financial Institutions
Forest Industry
Government
~1arine Industry
Minorities
Motels, Hotels, and Tourist Industry
Parks/Recreation
Real Estate/Insurance
Reta il Sa 1 es
Transportation
