RESOLUTION NO. 67-80
BUDGET APPROPRIATION - HEARING NOTICE
RECREATION DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Recreation Department did on April 28,
1980, sponsor a basketball marathon lasting 90 hours and raised the sum of
$1,967.20 to be used towards renovating the weight room and purchasing
weight and excerise equipment for the Rec Center;
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Recreation Department has insufficient
funds in their 1980 budget to cover costs incurred for the weight room and
equipment and the amount of $1,967.20 needs to be appropriated which was not
anticipated at the time of preparing the budget; and
WHEREAS, it appears to the Board of Jefferson County Commissioners that
a need and emergency exists as could not have been foreseen or contemplated
at the time of making the budget for 1980, and a new appropriation in the
sum of $1,967.20, to be reimbursed by the money raised by the basketball
marathon, is necessary to meet such need and emergency and is for the best
interest of Jefferson County that the appropriation be made;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that an emergency is hereby declared, that
an appropriation be made for the Jefferson County Recreation Department in
the amount so specified for the above stated reason.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a puolic hearing be held on the said
emergency appropriation and that said hearing be held in the County Commis-
sioners t Chamber, Courthouse, Port Townsend, v'Jashington, on the 7th day of
July, 1980 at the hour of 11:QO a.m.; and the notice of the said hearing be
published in the official newspaper of Jefferson County, and that at said
