RESOLUTION NO. 88-80 FIXING SALARIES OF JEFFERSON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS 1981 - 1986 REPEALING RESOLUTIONS NO. 54-78 AND 55-78 WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of R.C.W. 36.40.205, the county legislative authority of each county is authorized to increase or decrease the salaries of each county officer, including the salaries of the Board of County Commissioners; and WHEREAS, the Attorney General and State Auditor have ruled that insurance costs to the county on behalf of legislative body members are in addition to salaries and are to be included in this Resolution fixing salaries; and WHEREAS, considering the effects of inflation and other economics and the unprecented burden of legislative and administrative duties and responsibilities imposed by the legislature, the salaries of the County Commissioners for Jefferson County should be increased. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, under the authority of R.C.W. 36.40. 205, effective January 1, 1981, that the salaries of the Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners be and the same are hereby established as follows: 1981 - Fifteen Thousand Five Hundred Dollars 1982 - Sixteen Thousand Five Hundred Dollars 1983 - Eighteen Thousand Dollars 1984 - Nineteen Thousand Five Hundred Dollars 1985 - Twenty Thousand Five Hundred Dollars 1986 - Twenty One Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($15,500.00) ($16,500.00) ($18,000.00) ($19,500.00) ($20,500.00) ($21,500.00) BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Jefferson County Commissioners shall receive hospitalizztion and medical aid insurance benefits, covering both thenselves and their dependents, on the same basis as such benefits are provided other county employees and county elected officials. Such benefits shall include payment of full hospitalization and medical aid insurance coverage for the said Commissioners and their dependents; however, the insurance payments for each commissioner and his or her dependents shall not exceed the amount of One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($150.00) per month. ~ VOL 8 fACE ; 01677 Resolution No. 88-80 Page 2 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Commissioners' salaries shall be reviewed annually during the budget process. Should the economic climate indicate that salary increases should not be paid or that reduc- tions should be made, such changes may be made by the Commissioners without further resolution.
