RESOLUTION NO. 102-80
HEARING NOTICE
BUDGET APPROPRIATION
SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department has insufficient
funds in its 1980 budget to cover costs incurred to provide for additional
traffic deputies due to increased traffic problems at South Point; and
WHEREAS, the sum of $24,972.00 is the amount needed to cover the
said expenses, which was not anticipated at the time of preparing its budget,
and which shall be totally reimbursed by the State; and
WHEREAS, it appears to the Board of Jefferson County Commissioners
that a need and emergency exists as could not have been foreseen or con tem-
plated at the time of making the budget for 1980, and the sum of $24,972.00
is necessary to meet such need and emergency and is for the best interests
of Jefferson County that the appropriation be made; therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, that an emergency is hereby declared, that an
appropriation be made for the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department in the
amount of $24,972.00 to be used for salaries and wages.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a public hearing be held on the said
emergency appropriation and that said hearing be held in the County Commis-
sioners' Chambers, Courthouse, Port Townsend, Washington, on the 18th day
of August, 1980, at the hour of 10:30a.m., and that notice of the said
hearing be published in the official newspaper of Jefferson County, and that
at said hearing any interested taxpayer may appear and be heard for or
against the appropriation for such alleged emergency.
