WHEREAS, the federal government provides assistance to local governments
in community economic development, under the provisions of the 1965 Federal
Public Works and Economic Development Act, as amended to date; and
WHEREAS, Jefferson County is empowered to undertake programs for the
improvement of the general health, safety and welfare of their residents; and
WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best interest of the inhabitants of
Jefferson County that Jefferson County be eligible to participate in programs
under such Federal Economic Development Act, as amended; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Jefferson County Commissioners hereby declares
intent to participate in programs under the Federal Works and Economic Develop-
ment Act, as amended;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this Board hereby establishes the
Jefferson County Overall Economic Development Program (O.E.D,P.) Advisory
Committee; and
Said committee will engage in reviewing the economic conditions of Jeffer-
son County, and
Said committee will assist in updating the O.E.D.P. for 1979, and
Said committee will consist of representatives from each of the following
groups:
Agriculture Marine Industry
Aquaculture/Fishing Minorities
Construction Motels, Hotels, and Tourist Industry
Energy Parks/Recreation
Financial Institutions Real Estate/Insurance
Forest Industry Retail Sales
Government Transportation
