WHEREAS, The Jefferson County Board of Health has requested an
emergency budget extension to cover costs incurred to expand the Home Health Care
and WIC Program in Jefferson County; and
WHEREAS, funds in the additional amount of $11,800.00 will be paid in
fees by WIC, 314 D, Medicare, Medicaid and private individuals for services
provided by the Jefferson County Health Department; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that Home Health Care andWIC are"essentia1
to the health and safety of many of the citizens of Jefferson County; and
WHEREAS, it appears to the Board of County Commissioners, Jefferson
County, that a need and emergency exists as could not have been foreseen or
contemplated at the time of making the budget for 1979, and the sum,..of $11,800.00
is necessary to meet such need and emergency and is for the best interests
of Jefferson County that the appropriation be made:
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that an emergency is hereby declared, that
an appropriation of $11,800.00 be made for the Jefferson County Health Depart-
ment to be used for salaries, travel, and equipment.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a public hearing be held on said emergency
appropriation and that said hearing be held in the County Commissioner's Chamber

of Jefferson County on the y day ofF7' 1979, at the hour of t.:1D- a.m.
and that notice of said hearing be published in the official newspaper of
Jefferson County and that at said hearing any interested taxpayer may appear
the appropriation for such alleged emergency.
