RESOLUTION NO. 82-79
PROPOSED EXTENSION, 1979 BUDGET
JEFFERSON COUNTY PLANNING DEPARTMENT
SETTING OF HEARING DATE
WHEREAS, Jefferson County entered into a grant contract with
the Washington State Department of Ecology for administration and develop-
ment of the Jefferson-Port Townsend Shoreline Management Master Program
(Coastal Zone Management 306 Contract #G80-016B); and
WHEREAS, a work element of that contract involves a study and
master plan for the urban waterfront of the City of Port Townsend, and the
hiring of a consulting firm which will expend funds in the sum of $6,000.00
prior to the end of 1979; and
WHEREAS, the said amount of $6,000.00 shall be reimbursed to
Jefferson County from the Washington State Department of Ecology; and
WHEREAS, the grant applied for and funds granted were not
anticipated at the time of adoption of the 1979 budget and it appears to the
Board of County Commissioners that a need and an emergency exists and the
sum of $6,000.00 is necessary to meet such need and emergency and is for the
best interests of Jefferson County that the appropriation be made;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that an emergency is hereby declared,
that an appropriation of $6,000.00 be made for the Jefferson County Planning
Department to be used for consulting services.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a public hearing be held on said
emergency appropriation and that said hearing be held in the County Comrnis-
sioners' Chamber of Jefferson County on the 17th day of S~~tember, 1979, at
the hour of 10:00a.m., and that notice of said hearing be published in the
official newspaper of Jefferson County and that, at said hearing any inter-
ested taxpayer may appear and be heard for or against the appropriation for
such alleged emergency.
