A RESOLUTION of the Board of Commissioners of
Jefferson Co\mty, Washington, authorizing
the signing of an Interlocal Cooperation
agreement between the Corrmlissioners and
other m\micipalities and Indian Tribal
Councils on the North Olympic Peninsula
for the purpose of submitting a pre-application
for Corrmrunity Development Block Grant funds.
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Jefferson
County recognizes the need for improved land use, increased
economic and housing opportunities for low and moderate
income people, correcting health and safety deficiencies
in public facilities and deconcentrated low income housing,
and
WHEREAS, the citizens of Jefferson COill1ty have
expressed an interest in meeting these needs, and
WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban
Development has financial aid available under the Small
Cities Program of the Community Development Block Grant
Program of 1978, now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of
Jefferson County to join Clallam County, the Tow~ of Forks,
the Lower Elwha Band of the Clallam Indian Tribe, City of
Port Angeles, City of Port Tovffisend, the Quileute Indian
Tribe, and the City of Sequim, in the submission of an
application for Small Cities Program, Community Development
Block Grant funds.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners
of Jefferson County v.Till sign the interlocal cooperation
agreement necessary for submission of a joint application for
block grant funds from the Department of Housing and Urban
Development.
