RESOLUTION NO. 121-79
WHEREAS, the rules and regulations applying to employees under the
Comprehensive Employment Training Act (CETA) were modified effective
July 1, 1979, to exclude CETA employees from participation in the
Public Employees Retirement System, Teachers Retirement System, and
Law Enforcement and Fire Fighters Retirement System, and
WHEREAS, the Personnel Policy for Jefferson County employees
requires modification to identify the fact that CETA employees are not
authorized to participate in the said retirement systems, Now, Therefore,
IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the Jefferson County Personnel Policy
be amended by adding a new paragraph to Section II - Definition of Terms,
designated 2.19 Comprehensive Employment Training Act Employees which
reads as follows:
Comprehensive Employment Training Act (CETA) employees are
those employees whose salary is funded through the
Comprehensive Employment Training Act and amendments thereto.
A CETA employee is a separate category of employee and shall
be provided only those benefits set out in Section V -
Fringe Benefits, as are not prohibited by the Comprehensive
Employment Training Act, and any rules or regulations
promulgated in accordance with that act.
Adopted this 24th day of December, 1979.
