resolution no. 21 - 78 .
WHEREAS~ the Washington State Planning Enabling Act, R.C.W. 36.70~
permits the Jefferson County Comprehensive Plan to be "progressively .
amplified and augmented in .scope by expanding and increasing the general
provisions and proposals for all or anyone of the required elements set
forth in R.C.N. 36.70.330 and by adding provisions and proposals for the
optional elements set forth in R.C.W. 36.70.3501l~ and
WHEREAS~ the Jefferson County Park, Recreation and Open Space Plan
constitutes such an optional element as prescribed in R.C.W. 36.70.350, and
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Park, Recreation and Open Space Plan has
been prepat'ed by mutual cooperation of the citizens of Jefferson County~
through a series of community workshops, the Jefferson County Planning
Department~ the Jefferson County Planning Commission~ and other interested
and responsible parties~ and
WHEREAS, said Plan has been in compliance with the State Planning
Enabling Act~ and the State Environmental Policy Act~ including the
required public hearing, and
WHEREAS~ the Jefferson County Planning Commission has approved said
plan and recommended that this Board of County Commissioners also approve
and certify same~ and
WHEREAS, this Board finds the adoption of said plan to be in the inter-
est of the public health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jefferson
County,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED~ that the Jefferson County Park, Recrea-
tion and Open Space Plan is hereby approved and certified as an official
amendment to the Jefferson County Comprehensive Plan.
