C2~ -78 WHEREAS, .the federal government provides assistance to local governments in community economic development, under the provisions of the 1965 Federal Public Works and Economic Development Act, as amended to date; and WHEREAS, Jefferson County is empowered to undertake programs for the improve- ment of the general health, safety and welfare of their residents; and WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best interest of the inhabitants of Jeffer- son County that Jefferson County be eligible to participate in programs under such Federal Economic Development Act, as amended; and WHEREAS, the Board of Jefferson County Commissioners hereby declares intent to participate in programs under the Federal Public Works and Economic Development Act, as amended; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that this Board hereby establishes the Jeffer- son County Overall Economic Development Program (O.LD.P.) interim committee; That said committee will engage in reviewing the economic conditions of Jefferson County, and That said committee will assist in updating the O.E.D.P. for 1978, and That said committee will consist of representatives from each of the follow- ing groups, agencies, departments or companies: - Cl a 11 am-Jefferson Commun ity Acti on Council - City of Port Townsend - Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development Committee - Public Utility District - Puget Sound Power and Light Company - Financial Institutions - Real Estate Industry - Agriculture - Motels, Hotels and Tourist Industry - Stevens Stage Lines - Parks and Recreation - Forest Industry - Construction Industry - Aquaculture and Fishing Industries - Marine Industry - Retail Sales - Indian Minority Representative - Jefferson County Board of Commissioners APP~9~f~~ day of IYYl ~ . .'
