WHEREAS, Chapter 36.40 RCW sets out the procedures for
establishment of county budgets; and
WHEREAS, RCW 36.40.071 provides for an alternative date
to hold a budget hearing and allows the Board of County Commissioners
to establish alternate dates for other matters related to the budget
process; and
WHEREAS, it appears advantageous to utilize the alternative
budget hearing date and to establish alternative dates for other
budget - related processes; Now, Therefore,
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the following dates shall be
and are hereby established for the budget process for the budget
to be prepared during calendar year 1978 for calendar year 1979:
(1) Written notice by County Auditor
to each county official to file
budget estimate (RCW 36.40.010) - Aug. 14, 1978
(2) County officials file with
Auditor estimates of revenues
and expenditures (RCW 36.40.010) - Sept. 11, 1978
(3) County Commissioners submit to
Auditor detailed statement of
new road and bridge construction
(RCW 36.40.020) - Sept. 11, 1978
(4) Preliminary budget to be submitted
to Board of County Commissioners
by County Auditor (RCW 36.40.040) - Oct. 9, 1978
(5) Budget hearing (RCW 36.40.071) - Dec. 4, 1978
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that notice of the budget hearing
shall be provided in the manner consistent with Chapter 36.40 RCW;
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that except for the changes in
dates set out above, the budget process will follow the procedures
specifically outlined in Chapter 36.40 RCW.
