WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Maintenance Department for the
Multi - Services Centers has insufficient funds in their 1978 budget to
cover costs incurred to provide for payment of an additional maintenance
person needed to keep said buildings and grounds in satisfactory condition;
and
WHEREAS, a contract was intered into by and between Jefferson
County and Area I CETA Center to provide for on -the -job training services
for a trainee maintenance person, and Jefferson County shall be reimbursed
the amount of $1,008.00 for providing said services; and
WHEREAS, it appears to the Board of County Commissioners, Jeffer-
son County, that a need and emergency exists as could not have been foreseen
or contemplated at the time of making the budget for 1978, and the sum of
$3,188.00 is necessary to meet such need and emergency and is for the best
interests of Jefferson County that the appropriation be made:
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that an emergency is hereby declared,
that an appropriation be made for the Jefferson County Maintenance Depart-
ment in the amount of $3,188.00 to be used for salary and benefits.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a public hearing be held on said
emergency appropriation and that said hearing be held in the County Commis-
sioner's Chamber, Courthouse, Port Townsend, Washington, on the 4th day of
December, 1978, at the hour of 10 :30a.m.; and the notice of said hearing be
published in the official newspaper of Jefferson County, and that at said
hearing any interested taxpayer may appear and be heard for or against the
appropriation for such alleged emergency.
