Dear Jefferson County Board of Commissioners,
I recently heard about the decision to move forward with the Penny wise sale. I feel like I don’t have to explain the importance of legacy forests like penny wise to the current and
future health of our region! Money can’t buy back what is lost when we lose 100 year old forests.
Looking at the very real climate catastrophe taking place in front of our eyes I strongly advocate for a forest management plan that includes at very least a ban on logging any pre-1945
naturally regenerated forests.
These forests have spiritual and cultural value to my family and my community.
