Current Opening: State-Level Vehicle Residences Workgroup Washington State University’s (WSU) Division of Governmental Studies and Services (DGSS) is beginning work on a study funded by the Washington State Legislature regarding the towing and impounding of vehicles used as residences. The legislature has tasked WSU with creating a workgroup of stakeholders to review the legal findings by the Washington supreme court in the recent case of City of Seattle v. Long. The workgroup is required to meet a minimum of three times to produce a set of recommendations for amending Chapter 46.55 which provides the legal framework for towing and impounding vehicles. These recommendations must be put into a final report for submission to the legislature and the governor no later than December 1, 2022.
