Over the next five years, Washington State is expected to receive approximately $5.4 billion in highway-aid funding. In addition to the reauthorization of several surface transportation programs, this historic Act creates four new formula programs and represents a $1.7 billion dollar increase, for Washington State, above the existing 2015 Fixing America’s Surface Transportation Act. Over the next two years, the recently enacted Move Ahead Washington Transportation Package allocates much of this funding to the state, however, also directs the Joint Transportation Committee to convene a workgroup of stakeholders to recommend the future state/local splits for these programs. WSAC has been participating in this process and invites you to please join us for an update on the IIJA Joint Transportation Committee Workgroup, and the progress made toward recommending a more equitable split of these critical resources.
