MINUTES
Week of August 15,2005
Commissioner David W. Sullivan called the meeting to order in the presence of
Commissioner Patrick M. Rodgers. Chairman Phil Johnson was not present due to an excused absence.
PROCLAMA TION re: Proclaiming August 18, 2005 as Election Worker Recognition Day:
Auditor Donna Eldridge and Elections Specialist Betty Johnson were present when Commissioner Sullivan
read a proclamation designating August 18,2005 as Election Worker Recognition Day. On that day, the
Commissioners will be attending a ceremony at the Port Townsend Community Center honoring 179
Jefferson County poll workers.
Commissioner Rodgers moved to approve the proclamation. Commissioner Sullivan seconded the motion
which carried.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Commissioner Rodgers moved to approve the minutes of
August 8, 2005 as presented. Commissioner Sullivan seconded the motion which carried.
PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD: The following comments were made: concerns were
expressed about the money that the County plans to spend with the City of Port Townsend on a parks and
recreation survey and if it will be unbiased, and a representative from the Discovery Bay Alliance thanked
the County for putting a stop work order and stop shooting order on Security Services Northwest activities
last week, and since they didn't stop, what does the County plan to do to enforce these orders?
APPROVAL AND ADOPTION OF THE CONSENT AGENDA: Commissioner Rodgers
moved to approve the Consent Agenda as presented. Commissioner Sullivan seconded the motion which
carried.

The Board met in Executive Session from 10:05 to 10:30 a.m. with the County
Administrator, Deputy Prosecuting Attorney and Director of Community Development regarding potential
litigation and from 10:30 to 1050 a.m. regarding actual litigation.
