Your team, particularly your detective Derek Allen who assumed command was outstanding. Derek has a great command presence, identified the problems and tactics to address the problems. He delegated quickly and effectively, and left them to complete their task. His communication was direct, clear , concise, and always very respectful. It was a pleasure being in unified command with him. Gordon and Art also stood out as get it done guys that Derek could task and trust. They were quick to understand the request, do it well, and communicate back to Derek. Brett did a great job as your PIO. He released just enough to satisfy press, without getting into to much detail. He also took on coordinating the efforts at the crash site as well, and obviously had Derek’s tructto do so. Your SAR Volunteers were quick ( as quick as SAR can be) prepared and very pleasant to work with. They obviously had a high degree of skill and knowledge, especially the leadership. And your toys. The command/communications trailer, computer with SAR mapping software, satellite internet access, and the UAVs were all instrumental in a fast efficient resolution to the incident. In summary, you team crushed it! It was a pleasure working with them. Your investment in your staff and equipment has shown its value. Very respectfully, Ben Andrews Fire Chief Clallam County Fire District No.3 Service Driven Through Excellence and Innovation Unity- Compassion-Integrity-Courage-Honor ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ Confidentiality Statement: The attached information is CONFIDENTIAL and may be protected under the HIPAA privacy Act of 1996.
