Over the past couple of decades, the Land Trust (and our predecessor/partner Friends of the Fields) has permanently protected 22 farms on the Peninsula at rate of about 1 farm per year. Today, we are happy to announce that we are now in a position to double that pace and we are currently working to conserve two farms in the coming months: Mid Valley Farm and the Dungeness Hub. Learn more about this effort and how you can help as these farms take "Center Stage". We are extremely committed to seeing the return of this popular community gathering, and have ideas and plans already brewing for 2023. Last month, we did a quick poll of the community which affirmed that folks are incredibly dedicated to the goals of conserving farmland, celebrating local farms, and donating to the effort to preserve these properties. Therefore, plans are emerging to help the community reach these goals. It had been a long-time (late 2019) since we had the opportunity to gather, dance, celebrate, and thank you for the conservation you've made happen across the North Olympic Peninsula. Trees, mountains, streams, and shorelines are magnificent -- don't get us wrong -- but without all of you our work would be impossible. Your volunteering, donating, and voting matters and we are grateful to have you as neighbors and friends. Special thanks to Olympic Cellars for hosting, along with a group of incredible volunteers that helped run the event, and to Black Diamond Junction, Welly's Ice Cream, and Fathom & League Brewing. And thank you to all who attended the 32nd Annual Meeting at the Picnic and joined our chat about the new 2021 Impact Report <https://northolympiclandtrust.us3.list-manage.com/track/click?u=2a5604127 53cc77f18a4d65b4&id=b833ef8c0a&e=e371357277> and the 2022 - 2026 Strategic Plan <https://northolympiclandtrust.us3.list-manage.com/track/click?u=2a560412753cc77f18a4d65b4&id=4ccae603d8&e=e371357277> . The Legacy Grove features a short walk through a very young forest that the Land Trust will work to restore over the decades ahead. As part of the John Willits Legacy Circle <https://northolympiclandtrust.us3.list-manage.com/track/click?u=2a560412753cc77f18a4d65b4&id=b0482aae1f&e=e371357277> , the Legacy Grove honors those who leave the Land Trust in their wills. We are proud to open this area after many hours of hard work from staff and volunteers.
