WHEREAS, on January 6, 1975, there was filed with the Auditor of Jefferson
County, a petition for the purpose of forming a fire district under the provisions of
R.C.W. 52.04.010 et seq., and said Auditor having found and determined that said
petition contains a sufficient number of signatures of qualified persons, and having
attached thereto her certificate of sufficiency and on January 27, 1975, transmitted
the same to the Board of County Commissioners, and said Board having then and there
by resolution entered upon their minutes, fixed Monday the 24th day of February, 1975,
at the hour of 10:30a.m, of said day at the Commissioner's Chambers in the Jefferson
County Courthouse, Port Townsend, Washington, as the time and place for the hearing
of said petition, and
WHEREAS, at said time and place said petition came on for hearing, proof
having been made to the satisfaction of this Board that Notice hereof has been given
for the time and in the manner provided by law, and no objection having made or filed,
the Board proceeded to hear the petition and upon conclusion, makes the following find-
ing s:
I. That the lands described in the petition will be conducive to public safety,
welfare, and convenience and should be granted.
2. The name and number of the district shall be JEFFERSON COUNTY FIRE
PROTECTION DISTRICT NO. 6, and that the boundaries thereof shall be and are deter-
mined as follows:
Sections 31 and 32 and the West 1/4 of Section 33, Range
1 West, Township 31 North; Sections 5 and 6 and the West
1/4 of Section 4 of Range 1 West, Township 30 North;
Sections 7 and 8 and the West 1/4 of Section 9, all of
Sections 16 through 22, inclusive, and Sections 26 through

30, inclusive in Township 30 North, Range 1 West; the
Northeast 1/4 of Section 33, the North 1/2 of Section 34
and the Northwest 1/4 of Section 35, Township 30 North,
Range 1 West; and Sections 1, 12, 13, 24 and 23 in
Township 30 North, Range 2 West; all in relation to the
Willamette Meridian.
3. That an election be held on Tuesday, the lst day of April, 1975, to determine
whether the district shall be organized. The election shall be, so far as possible,
called, noticed, conducted and canvassed in the same manner and by the same officials
as is provided for a special election in the county to authorize the issuance of bonds
for a county purpose, and all such officials shall have full authority to do all things
necessary for the purpose of the election. For the purpose of the election, county
voting precincts may be combined or divided and redefined, and the territory in the
district shall be included in one or more election precincts as may be deemed convenient
and they shall be defined and a polling place for each designated. The notice of the
election shall state generally and briefly the purpose thereof, give the boundaries of
the proposed district, define the election precincts, designate the polling place for
each, mention the names of the candidates for the first commissioners, and name the
day of the election and the hours during which the polls will be open.
4. The three resident electors of the district who shall be candidates for election
as the first commissioners are:
Edward G. Wainwright
John E. Kanarr
Lee W. Stark
