HomeMy WebLinkAbout068 75I - - •.Clallam, rounty .esolu iori .o. 1 %73 Uiefierson County ResalaL-oki JOINT RESOLUTION CLALLAM COUNTY COMMISSIONERS and JEFFERSON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WHEREAS, Federal Grant Programs to the municipal governments under the Federal Omnibus Crime Control Act, sometimes known as the Safe Streets Act, has pointed out a need to establish a method for planning, developing, and coordinating and maintaining criminal justice improvement programs within the regional boundary of Clallam and Jefferson Counties and; WHEREAS, the Clallam and Jefferson County Commissioners accepts the recommendation of the Clallam and Jefferson County's Sheriffs, the Clallam and Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorneys and the Washington State Planning and Community Affairs Agency, Law and Justice Planning Office, to establish a regional law and justice advisory board as an advisory agency to those governments and agencies within the boundary of Clallam and Jefferson Counties, which are providing criminal justice services. BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Clallam County and the Board of County Commissioners of Jefferson C: u,nt : ',hat 'c�tere be established in Clallam and Jefferson Counties a REGIONAL CRIMINAL JUSTICE ADVISORY BOARD to be known as the CLALLAM- JEFFERSON REGIONAL CRIMINAL JUSTICE ADVISORY BOARD, which shall be VOL I FnfE [11205 comprised of the following officers; CRIMINAL JUSTICE MEMBERS 1. Clallam County Sheriff 2. Jefferson County Sheriff 3. Port Angeles Chief of Police 4. Port Townsend Chief of Police 5. Seguim Chief of Police 6. Forks Chief of Police 7. Offender Services Director 8. Jefferson County Prosecutor 9. Washington State Patrol, Port Angeles Detachment, Sgt. Morrisson 10. Regional Director of Juvenile Probation 11. Clallam County Prosecuting Attorney 12. Regional Probation and Parole Officer, Division of Institutions ELECTED OFFICIALS 1. Clallam Board of County Commissioners 2.. Jefferson Board of County Commissioners LAY MEMBERS Up to two (2) citizens selected at large by the Clallam County Commissioners and Jefferson County Commissioners. The presidents of the Clallam and Jefferson Bar Associations. Be it FURTHER RESOLVED by the Boards of County Commissioners of Clallam and Jefferson Counties; 1. That the Planning Director for the Regional Law and Justice Planning Office be the non - profit corporation, Program Planning and Grant Administration. 2. That the Clallam County Auditor be designated Financial Officer for purposes of administrating this program and managing it's budget. 3. That the Clallam- Jefferson Regional Criminal Justice Advisory Board establish three task forces; Adjudications, Corrections, Law Enforce- ment; for the purpose of analyzing problems of their concerns, development of the regional plan and other such purposes as deemed necessary. r' VOL , l 1 4. That the Regional Criminal Justice Advisory Board be designated as the official advisory body and fact finding agency to the Boards of County Commissioners regarding matters of criminal justice planning.
