WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the Board
of County Commissioners of Jefferson County that the Jefferson County
Department of Public Works' budget for 1975 has insufficient funds to
meet additional solid waste expenditures caused by unexpected high
costs of construction; and
WHEREAS, it appears to the Board that an emergency exists as
could not have been foreseen or contemplated at the time of making
the budget for 1975 and the sum of $109,000.00 is necessary to meet
such emergency and is for the best interests of Jefferson County that
cite appropriation be made;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that an emergency is hereby declared,
that an appropriation of $109,000.00 be made for the Department of
Public Works to be used for solid waste expenditures.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a public hearing be held on said
emergency appropriation and that said 'nearing be held in the County
Commissioners Chamber of Jefferson. County on the 3rd day of November,
1975, at the hour of 10:30a.m., and that notice of said hearing be
published in the official newspaper of Jefferson County and that, at
said hearing any interested taxpayer may appear and be heard for or
against the appropriation for such alleged emergency.
APPROVED and ADOPTED this 20th day of October, 1975.
