RESOLUTION NO. 1.-77 WESTERN JEFFERSON COUNTY EMERGENCY SERVICES COUNCIL WHEREAS, the National Highway Act of 1966 set forth a requirement for local governments to establish an agency to up-grade the standards of Emergency Medical Services, and West Jefferson County Emergency Services Council was accordingly formed, and WHEREAS, the Emergency Medical Services Section, Department of Social and Health Services recognizes the need for an advisory group within each Emergency Medical Services Region of the State, in which the West Jefferson County Emergency Services Council could act as represen- tative, and WHEREAS, we, the undersigned, are deeply concerned with the quali~ of emergency care offered to the residents and guests of the County, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND AGREED by the undersigned that: The West Jefferson County Emergency Services Council shall develop, implement, and coordinate, on a voluntary basis, the emergency services providers into a viable, on-going Emergency Services System, and FURTHERMORE, the above-mentioned Council shall, at the pleasure of the Board of County Commissioners, act as advisors to the Board in matters involving the delivery of emergent medical care and other related areas. DESCRIPTION The West Jefferson Emergency Services Council may be incorporated under the laws of the State of Washington as a non-profit corporation. The membership of the council shall be made of representatives of five geographical areas of the West End of the county, as well as elected officers and elected government officials. The executive branch of the Council shall consist of a President, a First Vice President, a Second Vice President, a Corresponding Secretary., ~'fld,- ~Recording; SecretarylTreasur.er.. The Council shall meet on a minimum of once a month and such meet- ings shall be held at the time and place set forth by the President. The duties of the Council shall, in addition to those mentioned above, include, but not be limited to, assisting in the acquisition of funds from governmental agencies, as well as from private sources, such as grand foundations, for the use of the service agencies.
