Hello Heidi. Me again.
Did you see this post on Next Door by Peggy Clements? It concerns me
too. I shared your email address, but also that I wasn't sure if the
parcel she's speaking of is in yours or Greg's district.
Here is what she said:
"42 acres were purchased in the Chimacum Valley. The new owner plans to
clear cut. There is some old growth, in particular an old Douglas Fir
that is the tallest tree in Chimacum. My niece lives next to it and is
heartbroken about it. She wanted to know if there are other options such
as putting the land into a land trust or if eagles are nesting there,
are they sill able to cut? It's most likely too late to do anything but
it sure is sad to see section after section of this beautiful place
being mangled with clear cutting. Even "selective cutting" would be
better than that."
42 acres seems like a huge impact. Is there anything to be done?
yours, Sara Ybarra Lopez
