JOINT llliSOLUTIOE NO. 4..f 1974 RESOLUTION FOR JUVENILE COURT PROEATION SERVICES The Board of County COB~issioners of Clallam and Jefferson Counties, State of Washington, believe that there is a need for a soecial supportive work program in the Juvenile Probation Denartment to assist in the .administration of probation services for the delinquent and incorrigible juvenile in Clalla~ and Jefferson Counties and that funds for such 2. progra'J. have been provided by I1G''.l 13.06.030, entitled, lI?robation Services--Special Supervision Prograr:1s". BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that pursuant to AQ~inistrative Order No. 7 of the Division of Institutions, this Board intends tn establish a Special Supervision ~ork Program in Clallam and Jefferson Counties from June 1, 1974 to December 31, 1974; make application for funds available under the Probation Subsidy Bill with the approval of G.B. Chamberlin, Judge of the Superior Court; designates R.L. Bradley, Director of Juvenile Court Services, Clallam and Jefferson Counties, ~1ashington, to coordinate planning, certifioation and the making and submission of claims for reimbursement from the Department of Social and. ELIGIBILITY POOL All delinquent, incorrigible juveniles referred to the Juvenile Court fro~ all sources vTill be considered regardless of sex, race, color, creed or national origin. All juveniles between the ages of eight and eighteen, manifesting serious ':ulti-sociaJ behavior 1;d.ll be considered for admission to this 'orogra7!l. II. CASE SELECTION Selected juveniles will be admitted only after a case conference vlhich shall include the fol101.ving personel. A. SDGcial Suuervision Unit 1. County Subsidy Administrator (Dir~ctor) 2. Special Unit Staff Members B. Existing Court Staff 1. Director 2. Supervising Deputy Probation Counselors Admission will be made upon the recommendation and mutual agreement that the s3)ecific needs of a particul.3.r Yjrobationer would benefit by this program. The juveniles will be nlaced ~ith various offices and s.genctes of government. This 'program '.<!ill be under the administratj,on of the Clallam and Jefferson Counties Juvenile Court. The cost break dO'..m is as follo\'lS: Clallam County Salary for six juveniles (c $10.00 a day) State Industrial Insurance O.A.S.L Total Cost $5,400.00 80.00 320.00 $5,800.00 Jefferson County . Salary for six juveniles ( ( S 10.00 a day) State Industrial Insurance O.A.S.I. $5,400.00 80.00 320.00 Total Cost $5,800.00 The Cl<~llam County Auc3i tor \'Jill be res'ponsi ble for writing checks for the juveniles and making the necessary deductions every month. Each child will earn a gross of $10.00 a day. After the juveniles have been placed in their respective jobs, a Probation Counselor ~ill make a supervisory visit twice each '1eex. Also every pwo weeks the juveniles in these programs '::i11 be assimilated in a grou so they can discuss the jobs, likes and dislikes. Some of the objectives of this program are as follows: 1. To'!ut the juveniles to 'dork, many for the first time. 2. S:o;Jrovide juveniles l'li th a regul"lr "'ode routine ar.a good habits. 3. Tc help juveniles develop a sense of responsibility. 4. To enable the juvenile to earn money for personal needs. 5. These juveniles \'li11 have good introductions to vario....ls vocational o'c'')ortunitics that will be available to them after they ~raduate from hifh school. 6.
