Re~llatin~ Solid Waste Disposal
In Jefferson County)
1'f'EREAS, 'T'raditional methods of disposing of solid wastes in Jefferson County
are no longer adequate to meet the ever increasing problems, and
H~EP.EAS, 'rhe present methods of solid waste disposal polute our land, air and
water resources, blight our country side, promote vermin infestation, adversely
effect our la,d values thus damaging the overall quality of our environment, and
\~{EREAS, Jefferson County has a need to plan and manage solid waste disposal
activities, and
l>l'illREAS, The State of Vlashington, through its legislature has adopted legislation
requiring a comprehensive statewide plan regulating methods of solid waste disposal,
and
\~jEREAS, Jefferson County through its Board of County Commissioners, Solid Waste
Advisory Committee and Technical Advisors, has designed a "Solid IJaste l'Ianagement
Plan" dated June, 1973, and
l-rmREAS, said plan provides for the elevation and preservation of the quality of
our environment, and
lif1EREAS, said plan meets the standards of the various enviromental protection
agencies involved,
NOW, BE IT qEREBY RESOLVED by the Board of Jefferson County Commissioners
that the ,JEF?ERSON COmITY SOLID WA.S'T'E HANAGFJIENT PLAN dated June, 1973 is adopted
~,the plan for Solid Haste Management in Jefferson County
PASSED AT'ffi ADOP'1'ED by the J30ard of County Commissioners of Jefferson County,
