COUNTY MAINTENANCE
FAS PROJECT
RESOWTION NO. /7- 1" ~ -
WHEREAS, the Department of Highways of the state of WaShington, acting as Agent
of and for the Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Commerce of the United
States of America, is desirous ~~ constructing a Federal Aid Project
No. s-0497(9) in Jefferson County, over and aeross
Sections 16, 17, 20, 29 & 32, Township 28 North, Range 1 West, W.M.
Sections 5, 6, 7 & 18, Township 27 North, Range 1 West, W.M.
Sections 12 & 13, Township 27 North, Range 2 West, W.M.
and
WHEREAS, the Department of Highways of the State of Washington, acting as
Agent for the United States Bureau of Public Roads, is desirous of receiving Federal
funds for the improvement of said road, and
WHEREAS, the said Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Commerce of the
United States of America will not participate in the construction of said road
until and unless the County of Jefferson will agree to refrain from
permitting encroachment upon the right of way of said above-mentioned road, and until
and unless the County of Jefferson will agree to refrain from passing resolu-
tions affecting the free flow of traffic on said above-mentioned road or that will
give preference to local routes which intersect with said road, other than by the
erection or installation of "slow" and/or "caution" signs or signals, or that will un-
reasonably hinder or delay traffic on said above-mentioned road, and until and unless
the County of Jefferson will agree, by suitable resolution, to adopt the
grades of the improvement as the grades of the county road that is involved, and
agree to protect the State of Washtngton against any and all claims for damages on
account of any changes of grades ~nd the construction of this improvement, and until
and unless the County of Jefferson will agree to maintain said improvement
within the limits of the County of Jefferson after the improvement has
been completed:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Jefferson
County that for and in consideration of the Department of Highways of the State of
Washington and the Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Commerce of the United
States of America constructing said road and routing traffic on same over and across

Jefferson County hereby agrees with the Department of Highways of the State
of Washington and the Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Commerce of the
United States of America that it will not, in the future, permit encroachments on
the right of way of the said above-mentioned road, no~ will it pass any resolutions
a~fecting the ~ree flow of traffic on said above-meniioned road or that will give
preference to local routes which intersect with said road, other than by the erec-
tion or installation of "slow" and/or "cautionll signs or signals, or that will slow
up, unreasonably hinder, or delay traffic on said above-mentioned road, and that it
will, by suitable resolution, adopt the grades of the improvement as the grades o~
the county road that is involved, and hereby agrees to protect the State of Washington
against any and all claims for damages on account of changes of grades and the con-
struction of this improvement, and hereby further agrees to maintain said improve-
ment within the limits of the County of Jefferson after this improvement
has been completed.
