HomeMy WebLinkAbout037 72 RESOLUTION NO. 37-1~, ENDORSEMENT OF ALTERNATIVE MEASURE 43B SHORELINES MANAGEMENT ACT 1971 WHEREAS, THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, JEFFERSON COUNTY, WASHINGTON, in the interest of achieving a balance between environmental quality needs and economic growth, and WHEREAS, there is a need to foster reasonable and appropriate utilization of shorelines in the State of Washington, and WHEREAS, Alternative Measure 43B offers a sensible balance be- tween shorelands preservation and economic development, and WHEREAS, said alternative measure will protect both natural beauty, recreational uses and job opportunities, and WHEREAS, said measure is presently functioning successfully under the title of the Shoreline Management Act of 1971, and administered under the local governmental body, and WHEREAS, the Shoreline Management Act of 1971 needs statewide voter approval to continue in effect, NOW THEREFORE, we endorse the Alternative Measure 43B on the November 7, 1972, general election ballot, otherwise known as the Shorelines Management Act of 1971. ~ c ..~ # ... .
