RESOLUTION NO. 1-71
t~REAS, the State of Washington, by and through its
~
Training Commission is engaged in the planning of a Law
Enforcement Officers Training Academy, and
;.'JHEREAS, the State of Washingto n presently owns Fort i'Jorden
in Jefferson County, and
W~ffiREAS, Fort Worden is a site already equipped with the

physical plant suitablaand available for such training fac-
ilities, and

vVHEREAS, IT APPEARS likely that the Juvenile Treatment Center

at Fort Worden will be closed in 1971, so that the entire facility
will be available for a Training Academy and other uses,
NOil} THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF JEFFERSON

COUNTY COI'-ll,nSSIONERS tha t the vJashington State Training Commission
urged to direct that Fort Worden be considered as a site for the
location of a Law Enforcement Officers Training Academy.
ADOPTED this 11th day of January, 1971.
