A RESOLUTION providing for the creation, maintenance and funding of Jefferson
County Council on Alcoholism.
WHEREAS, it has been deemed necessary by the BOARD OF
COMMISSIONERS, JEFFERSON COUNTY , WASHINGTON, to establish, main-
tain and appropriate funds for JEFFERSON COUNTY COUNCIL ON ALCOHOLISM
consisting of a Referral and Information Center to serve alcoholics in Jefferson
County, their families and dependents, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners, Jefferson County Wash-
ington, shall appoint a committee to act as an advisory to said Board and to serve
thereon, and is to be designated as the JEFFERSON COUNTY COUNCIL ON ALCD-
HOLISM, and
WHEREAS, the goals of this Council shall be:
1. Prevention of alcoholism.
2. Early treatment and identification of the alcoholic.
3. Integrated community services to meet the needs
of the alcoholic.
4. Education of the alcoholic, professional personnel,
and lay public about the fact that alcoholism is a
major health problem in the State of Washington and
the United States.
and
WHEREAS, their function is to provide:
1. Direct services to clients and their families.
2. Direct services to community agencies and medical
facilities.
3. Community alcoholism educational services.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMIS-
SIONERS, JEFFERSON COUNTY, WASHINGTON, that there be monies appropriated
in the amount of two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) annually for the furnishing of office
space, phone and service to prevent alcoholism and to assist alcoholics and their
families in coping with and solving an alcohol problem.
