RESOLUTION NO. 3-70
Resolution pertaining to Chapter 199, Laws of 1969,
Extraordinary Session providing that with certain
exceptions, District and fee Justice Court income
remitted to the County Treasurer be distributed to
cities, counties and the State Treasurer on a per-
centage basis
WHEREAS, Chapter 199, Laws of 1969, Extraordinary Session
has been examined along with Bulletin No. 96 from the Chief Exam-
iner, Division of Municipal Corporations, regarding Justice Court
Remittances, the following percentages will be applied to all
Justice Court Remittances received by the Jefferson County Trasurer
effective October 1, 1970:

WHEREAS, all fees, fines, forfeitures and penalties assessed
and collected by Justice Court, except fines, forfeitures and penalties
assessed and collected because of city ordinances, shall be remitted
by Justice Court to the County Treasurer at least monthly, together
with a remittance statement properly attested as required by the
Division of Municipal Corporations, noting the necessary information
for the crediting of such funds. The County Treasurer Shall place
these funds into the Justice Court's Suspense Fund.
WHEREAS, quarterly the County Auditor shall determine and
certify to the County Treasurer the Total Expenditures of the Justice
Court, including the cost of providing courtroom and office $pace,
the cost of probation and parole services and the cost of any per-
sonnel employed in connection with such courts. The County Treasurer
shall then transfer from the Justice Court Suspense Fund to the
Current Expense Fund an amount equal to the above total expenditures.
WHEREAS, the County Treasurer, using the percent~ges above,
shall then remit the appropriate amounts of the remaining balance
in the Justice Court Suspense Fund to the State Gene:al Fund, the
City of Port Townsend and the Jefferson County Current Expense Fund.
WHEREAS, all fees in support of the Law Library Fund shall
be credited to that fund immediately upon receipt of remittance from
the Justice Court in compliance with RCW 27.24.070.
