WHER&\S, the Department of Highways of the State of Washington, acting as
Agent of and for the Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Commerce of the
United Stat~s)of America, is desirous of constructing a Federal Aid Project ,
No. !-0491\a in Jerrereoa County, over and across

and
WHEREf.8, the Department of Highways of the State of Washington, acting as
Agent for the United States Bureau of Public Roads, is desirous of receiving Federal
funds for the improvement of said road, and
WHEREAS, the said Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Commerce of the
United States of America will not participate in the construction of said road
until and unless the County of Jeff.ram will agree to refrain from
permitting encroachment upo~ ~o rMht of way of said above-mentioned road, and until
and unless the County of · ere will agree to refrain from passing resolu-
tions affecting the free flow of traffic on said above-mentioned road or that will
give preference to local routes which intersect with said road, other than by the
erection or installation of "slow" and/or "caution" signs or signals, or that will un-
reasonably hindeJ~ del~ traffic on said above-mentioned road, and until and unless
the County of ereo will agree, by suitable resolution, to adopt the
grades of the improvement as tho grades of the county road that is involved, and
agree to protect the State of Washington against any and all claims for damages on
account of any changes of ~~des and tho construction of this improvement, and until
and unless the County of a.tte~D will agree to maintain said improvemont
within the limits of the County of Ju!!..-uA afte~ the improvement has
been completed;
Jtt~~, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of

State of \vashington and the Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Commerce of

.Jett...on County hereby D.grees with the Departm;:mt of Highways of the State
of Washington and the Bureau of Public Roads of the Departmont of Commerce of the
United States of ~merica that it will not, in the future, permit encroachments on
tho right of wo.y of the said above-mentionod road, nor will it pass any resolutions
affecting the free flow of traffic on said above-mentioned road or that will give
preference to local routes which intoresect with said road, other thnn by the'6rec-
tion or installation of "s10w" and/or "cnutionll siBlls or signals, or that will slow
up, unreasonably hinder, or delay traffic on said above-mentioned road, and that it
will, by suitable resolution, adopt the grades of the improvement as the grades of
the county road that is involved, and hereby agrees to protect tho State of Washington
against any and all claims for damages on account of changes of grades and the con-
struction of this improvement, and hereby further agrees to maintain said improve-
ment within the limits of tho County of J.t:te~ aftor this improvement
has been completed.
