WHEREAS, The Jefferson County Highway Department has need of approx:tmately 1,000
tons of asphalt road patching material at the present time, and
WHEREAS, the asphalt ndxing plant needed to manufacture said material is a very
specialized apparatus, being available in the Jefferson County area on a very limited
time schednle, and
WHEREAS, The J. D. Shotwell CompanY' 8 mixing plant, capable of accomplishing said
work, will be available in the Jefferson County area during the first part of A.pril,
1969, and
WHEREAS, past :records show that this ~erial was last :produced in September, 1967,
on contract, with Washington ~halt Co., at a unit cost ot $5.75 per ton plus tax, de-
livered to the stockpile site at the Highway Shop at Chimaeum, and
WHEREAS, the J. D. Shotwell Company has proposed to produce the required asphalt
materials and deliver said materials to the stockpile site at the Highway Shop, Chimacum
for the consideration ot $7.75 per ton plus tax _

NOW THEREFORE, BE 1'1' RESOLVED, that the Jef'f~rson County Commissioners hereby author-
ize the Jetferson County Engineer to Mgotiate a cQrltract with the J. D. Shotwell Co. to
produce and deliver approximately 1,000 tons of asphalt road patching materials to the
Highway Shop at Chimacum at a unit cost of $7.15 per ton plus tax.
