RESOLUTION AUTHQRIZING PREPARATION OF A COMPREHENSIVE
COMMUNITY WATER AND SEWER DEVELOPMENT PLAN OF THE RURAL
AREAS OF JEFFERSON COUNTY, WASHINGTOII IN ACCORDANCI

authorized to prepare a comprehensive plan pursuant to the provisions
of )6.70 RCW Statute of the State of Washington,
The County Board or Commissioners hereby resolve. to undertake
the preparation of a Comprehensive Rural Community Plan for the orderly
development of water and sewer systems in rural communities ot said
County a.s defined by Public Law 89-240.
The comprehensive plan to be undertaken will be prepared in
accordanoe with the guide for use of water and sew.r development plan
of the rural community. This comprehensive plan shall be completed
for the rural area of the GGunty by one year from availabl11ty of
funda,
The preparation of this co~prehen$iv. community plan for water
and sewer systems will. in addition to assisting the rural communities
in Jefferson County to qualify for grant assistance from the various
governmental sources. do the following:

Develop awar~neS8 of the part of the people at rural
areas of their water and waste disposal problem..
Develop on the p~rt of the people in the area a desire
to solve pl'obleI8$ or prevent problemas in connection with
water and waste disposal. Such desire or concer~ should
lead to local community 8.(rtion to improve or install water
and wast.. di~posal facilities.

Determine beet and alternate source. of water and methods

treatment plantst where such common facilities would be
more advantageous to the public inter.at.
Provide supplemental infoX'matlon on the subjeat. shown on
Farmers Home Administration Instruction 442.7. Exhibit At
as they relate to the rural community water and sewer needs.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Jefferson County
Commissioners, after careful scrutiny of financ.. aval1aol.. hereby certify
that county monies are not immediately available to pay the cost of the
comprehenei ve water and sewer plan; and
BE IT .?U'~.'l-iER RESOLVED, that the Joard a.uthorize application to the
Farmers Home Administration fot' funds to carry out the plan, and authorize
the Chairman of the BOQrd to exeCute all documents necessary to aerv. a
grant for said purpose.
